Widget Disappeared After Importing ComfyUI Workflow

If your ComfyUI shows that all widget inputs have turned blank, similar to the image on the right after importing someone else’s workflow or a new version of the workflow.

ComfyUI Node Missing

Explanation of the Cause

This issue arises because the storage method for widget values changed after the update of the ComfyUI frontend in version v1.16.9. Currently (as of April 26, 2025), many users are still using older versions, which leads to widespread issues when sharing workflows.

To resolve this issue, you need to upgrade to the latest version of ComfyUI, ensuring that the frontend is after v1.16.9; otherwise, you will encounter widget loss issues during use.

With the iteration of frontend versions, the addition of new features has led to a breaking change after version 16.9, making it very difficult to maintain compatibility of workflow files across all versions.

Other Issues That May Arise Due to Frontend Updates

Additionally, with recent frontend updates, another potential issue is that installed custom nodes may not have been updated in time, leading to incompatibility with the latest frontend version, causing nodes to malfunction or interface operations to fail.

You may need to try using the disable function in the ComfyUI-Manager node to batch disable installed nodes and restart ComfyUI to confirm whether the issue is caused by custom nodes.

For example, the issue below is caused by a conflict between Easy Use and the frontend, requiring an update of Easy Use to the latest version.
