IC-Light: Image Relighting Models for ComfyUI
IC-Light is lllyasviel's image relighting series: open V1 checkpoints plus a FLUX-based V2 that today runs only in the official online demo.

Image EditingRelightingOpen SourceImage relighting model series by lllyasviel (author of ControlNet). V1 ships as three open SD 1.5 checkpoints that re-render lighting from a prompt; V2 moves to FLUX with foreground conditioning and is reachable through the official online demo.

Overview
IC-Light relights a photo without changing what is in it. You give a text prompt (optionally with an environment map) describing the desired light, and the model re-renders the scene so the subject is lit that way. The foreground-conditioned variants keep the subject pixels intact and only move the light, which is what makes the output usable for compositing.
V1 checkpoints
V1 is built on SD 1.5 and ships three weights, all on Hugging Face:
| Checkpoint | Conditioning | Notes |
|---|---|---|
iclight_sd15_fc.safetensors | Text + foreground | Default model; an initial latent can also steer the relighting |
iclight_sd15_fcon.safetensors | Text + foreground | Same as fc but trained with offset noise; slightly weaker in the author's user study |
iclight_sd15_fbc.safetensors | Text + foreground + background | The background is conditioned too, so the whole scene follows the prompt |
IC-Light V2
V2 rebuilds the model on FLUX and adds a 16-channel VAE plus native high-resolution processing, so it keeps detail on stylised inputs such as oil paintings and anime. Only the foreground-conditional model is usable so far, and it is served through the official Hugging Face Space: the V2 weights themselves are not open, so there is no checkpoint to download or run locally. V2 output is licensed for non-commercial use only.
ComfyUI integration
For V1, install kijai/ComfyUI-IC-Light, which provides the IC-Light nodes and example workflows, then place the checkpoint in models/checkpoints. For V2, the workflow is the online demo described in the IC-Light V2 tutorial.
License
V1 weights are released under CreativeML OpenRAIL-M. The original V1 examples use BRIA RMBG 1.4 for background removal, which is non-commercial: swap it for something like BiRefNet if you use IC-Light commercially. IC-Light V2 is for non-commercial use only.
