Studio 1939 LoRA Turns MiniMax H3 Into 1930s Hand-Painted Animation

Studio 1939 is a style LoRA for MiniMax H3 that turns text prompts into footage that looks painted and inked by a 1930s animation studio: gouache backgrounds with visible brushwork, warm celluloid palettes and classical character animation (Hugging Face). It was trained by Lovis Odin on a curated selection from a public-domain 1939 animated feature, and both film references in its gallery show what the look borrows from that era.

Two strengths, one trigger

Both variants share the same prompt and seed; only the LoRA rank changes. The trigger word is gulliv3r, at the start of the prompt, prompt expansion should be off, and scale 1.0 gives the full look while 0.4 to 0.8 blends it under modern art direction. It works in 21:9, 16:9 and 4:3.

Character consistency from text alone

No character sheet or reference image is needed: freeze a character description word-for-word and repeat it verbatim in every prompt, and the same character returns across scenes and worlds.

Two short films made with it

The author generated two complete shorts with the LoRA: SIX BILLION YEARS, an 8-minute history of the universe whose 261 shots rendered in 28 minutes, and THE SEVEN DOORS, a 5-minute adventure whose 108 shots rendered in 21 minutes. Both used one frozen character description, exhaustive art-directed prompts with an explicit list of what must not appear, and a fully scripted edit.

Using the weights

The safetensors files are standard H3 LoRAs, so they load in ComfyUI like any other MiniMax H3 LoRA: download into ComfyUI/models/loras/, load a native H3 text-to-video workflow, and apply the LoRA between the model loader and the sampler with the trigger word at the start of your prompt. The same files work with the LoRA Loader in ComfyUI's native H3 pipeline.
