Flux.1 Kontext Dev Open Source Version Released with Native ComfyUI Support

Black Forest Labs has officially released the Flux.1 Kontext Dev open source version, a diffusion transformer model with 12 billion parameters. As the open-source sibling of the Flux.1 Kontext commercial version, it offers the same core capabilities, including character consistency maintenance, local editing, and style reference. Notably, ComfyUI has provided native support from day one.

  • Fully Local Operation: Unlike the API version, the Dev version runs entirely on local machines, providing greater experimental flexibility for developers, researchers, and advanced users
  • Powerful Editing Capabilities:
    • Character Consistency: Maintain consistency of unique elements in images across multiple scenes and environments
    • Local Editing: Precisely modify specific elements in images without affecting other parts
    • Style Reference: Generate new scenes while preserving the unique style of reference images according to text prompts
